Step-by-step recipe
1. Prepare the dough.
- Mix flour, sugar and salt in a bowl.
- Add the cold butter, cut into cubes, and rub it with the flour until it becomes crumbly.
- Add water to form a dough. Wrap it in cling film and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
2. Preparation of the filling.
- Peel and core apples, cut into thin slices.
- Sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent them from darkening.
- Add sugar, cinnamon and starch, mix gently.
3. Form the base of the pie.
- Roll out the cooled dough and place it in a baking dish (22-24 cm), creating sides.
- Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent the dough from puffing up during baking.
4. We assemble the cake.
- Spread the apple filling in an even layer on the dough.
- In a bowl, mix eggs, cream, sugar and vanilla sugar, beat until smooth. Pour this mixture over the apples.
5. We bake.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Bake the cake for 40-50 minutes, until the filling is set and the surface is golden.
