Rice dishes – ideas for a delicious dinner

Rice is a versatile product that combines harmoniously with many ingredients, making it an ideal base for a variety of dishes.

1. Classic pilaf with meat

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups of rice;
  • 300 g of meat (pork, beef or chicken);
  • 1 bulb;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 2 glasses of water;
  • spices: cumin, turmeric, bay leaf, salt.

Preparation:

  1. Cut the meat into cubes, fry it until golden brown.
  2. Add chopped onion and grated carrot, simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add spices, washed rice and water.
  4. Cook over low heat with the lid on for 20-25 minutes, until the rice has absorbed all the liquid.

Tip: For a richer taste, use homemade broth instead of water.

2. Rice with vegetables in an oriental style

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rice (preferably jasmine or basmati);
  • 1 bell pepper;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 100 g of frozen green peas;
  • 2 Art. spoons of soy sauce;
  • 1 hour spoon of sesame oil.

Preparation:

  1. Boil the rice until ready.
  2. Cut vegetables into small cubes, fry in a pan.
  3. Add boiled rice, soy sauce and sesame oil.
  4. Stir and heat for a few more minutes.

Tip: Add a fried egg or chicken for a heartier option.

3. Risotto with mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of arborio rice;
  • 200 g of mushrooms;
  • 1 bulb;
  • 50 ml of dry white wine (optional);
  • 3 cups of chicken broth;
  • 50 g of grated parmesan.

Preparation:

  1. Fry chopped onions and chopped mushrooms until golden.
  2. Add the rice and heat it for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Pour in the wine, let it evaporate, then gradually add the stock.
  4. Stir until the rice is soft and creamy.
  5. At the end, add grated parmesan.

Tip: For a brighter taste, add a little butter before serving.

4. Rice with chicken in a creamy sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of boiled rice;
  • 300 g of chicken fillet;
  • 200 ml of cream (15-20% fat);
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • 1 hour a spoonful of Italian herbs.

Preparation:

  1. Cut the chicken into pieces, fry until cooked.
  2. Add chopped garlic and cream, simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Put boiled rice and spices in a pan, mix and heat.

Tip: For piquancy, add grated cheese to the cream sauce.

5. Sweet rice with dried fruits

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rice;
  • 50 g of raisins;
  • 50 g of dried apricots;
  • 2 Art. spoons of honey;
  • 1 Art. spoon of butter.

Preparation:

  1. Boil the rice in salted water.
  2. Soak dried fruit in hot water, then grind.
  3. Fry dried fruits in butter, add honey and boiled rice.
  4. Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Tip: Serve with nuts or coconut flakes.
